Today’s heightened concerns about cyberterrorism, hostile foreign states, and global health pandemics, have caused us to rethink what we consider to be “critical infrastructure” within the U.S.

Beyond DoD, the IC, and other federal civilian agencies, there are private sector components such as financial services, healthcare, IT, manufacturing, energy, and public utilities whose security is paramount.

A former national security prosecutor and a cybersecurity/AI expert explore the nature of “critical infrastructure,” the purpose of NDAA Section 889, and how the private and public sectors are collaborating more and more to address this vital issue.
