Lockheed Martin, a global aerospace and defense (A&D) leader, is known for its innovation, performance, and customer focus.
To drive interoperability across its enterprise and with external partners, Lockheed Martin launched the 1LMX digital transformation initiative – streamlining workflows and accelerating product development.
As part of 1LMX, Lockheed Martin partnered with SAP and SAP NS2 to build MyLM, an integration hub that unifies more than fifty previously siloed internal applications. This implementation removed barriers to task access and cross-team collaboration, ultimately enabling Lockheed Martin to radically upgrade the way it designs, procures, builds, and repairs critical platforms.
“This didn’t start as a buzzword. We saw a fundamental problem: people in the enterprise must complete tasks as part of a workflow, but they don’t spend enough time in each system to know how or what to do next.”
To meet complex requirements, Lockheed Martin implemented SAP SuccessFactors Work Zone as a central employee portal, offering:
The solution integrated SAP Build Work Zone, SAP Ariba solutions, and SAP Business Network within SAP NS2’s secure cloud. With advanced role control, cloud authorizations, external user access, and third-party identity integration, Lockheed Martin enhanced security and compliance while streamlining collaboration across its expanding ecosystem.
With MyLM, Lockheed Martin’s 122,000 employees now access critical tasks and resources from a single, AI-assisted hub – cutting administrative overhead and simplifying workflows. Guided experiences and enhanced supplier collaboration help reduce lead times and improve efficiency.
Since its launch in May 2024, MyLM has driven measurable improvements:
more employees completed self-service certifications year over year – lowering appeals and labor costs
average active incoming U.S. and international employees onboarded through the Year One experience
compliance courses completed by 40,000 employees using the MyLM Task List
“Our vision was, how do we bring things closer to the user, one or two clicks away, and how do we make it easier for the user?”
